James Caan CBE is a highly successful entrepreneur and has been involved in developing and selling businesses. James became known for his role as a Dragon on BBC Two’s ‘Dragons Den’. Since leaving the Den he has continued to invest in more businesses, sustained his charitable work through the James Caan Foundation and become a popular and engaging business speaker at corporate events.

James found his success working in the recruitment industry, building the talent acquisition companies Alexander Mann Solutions and Humana International into globally recognised organisations.

He has been the CEO and founder of Hamilton Bradshaw since 2004, a firm which specialises in venture capital, buyouts and real estate investment, and has been involved with buying and selling businesses. These successes, and his considerable accomplishments as an entrepreneur and businessman, led to his position as a Dragon on the popular BBC Two show ‘Dragon’s Den’.

During his five years on the panel of ‘Dragon’s Den’, James invested in 14 companies and put in £1 million worth of investment into participant’s business ideas. James has also hosted ‘The Business Class’, a CNBC show; each episode involves an innovative business looking for advice on how to grow in today’s market.

Off-screen, James is involved with a panel of high-profile business people who meet to discuss enterprise policy. His own property venture HB Real Estate, established in 2011, targets investments in prime London residential and commercial property assets. In 2012, James was appointed as chairman of the UK government’s StartUp Loans Scheme, which funds young entrepreneurs between the ages of 18 and 24 for the first three years in business.

Using his experience in recruitment and as an entrepreneur, James has written multiple books to help young entrepreneurs understand whether their business ideas are feasible and how to best pursue the path to success.

James has set up his own app called ‘James Caan Business Secrets’, and founded the James Cann Foundation in order to help underprivileged children get an education. In recognition of his achievements, he has been awarded the ‘BT Enterprise of the Year’, the PWC ‘Entrepreneur of the Year’, nominated as a LinkedIn Influencer and recognised in the Queen’s Honours list, being awarded a CBE for services to entrepreneurialism and for his charitable works.
